The 6 Most Stressful Things About Moving

I asked some of the sales staff here at Buehler Moving on what they feel are some of the most stressful things that they believe that their customers are struggling with the most when they move. This was the answers that I received from them:

Price
Time
Kids and School
Pets
Quality
The Unknown

Now I am going to hit on each and every one of these things and then provide a simple solution to all of these key things that you can find to be stressful when you are moving.

First off, it’s always about price. Can I afford to move? Can I afford a moving company? What is it going to cost me? Am I being scammed by my moving company? All of these are questions that revolve around price and can really stress you out. It’s a lot to think about and stress over and we totally understand!

When it comes to price, always be sure to get a minimum of 3 moving estimates from 3 reputable moving companies. Then compare them, don’t just look at the estimate final amount. Examine all of the charges closely.

Perhaps one moving company included mattress bags for your beds and the other didn’t. Perhaps one moving company thinks that you have 6,000 pounds and the other company thinks that you have 4,000 pounds. Perhaps one moving company included valuation on your move and another company didn’t. Valuation is EXTREMELY important and I explain it a little more in depth in my post called “Moving Damage – What Moving Companies Legally Have To Offer You Before You Move.” All of these little things change the price of your move.

Explore your estimates and if one company isn’t offering you all of the services that another company is offering you, then of course there will be a difference in price on the final amount.

Remember, it’s fair to say that if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is. You should never go with a really low ball quote because you do not want them charging you additional money upon delivery. Check out what the BBB has to say about moving.

Ask questions and don’t be afraid to ask your moving companies to revise their quote based on the services they may not have originally included in their price.

Also, always make sure that you get a fixed price bid. This protects you from the moving company trying to charge you additional money above and beyond the quoted amount.

Now moving on to the next topic – One of the most valuable things that you have in the world is your time. Managing your time is already enough work and there really never is enough time as it is. One of the great resources that we offer to help save you valuable time is your personal online move planner. You can see a video of how it works by clicking on the link.

You can look at your moving documents, moving checklists, packing tips and even special offers from other companies and discounts. You can also check out the schools, find a realtor and you can get cash back by using the referral program. It’s a really great way to have everything with regard to your move all in one easy convenient location that actually helps save you time.

This move planner also helps give you information about moving with kids or moving with pets, or you can check out my recent article about Moving With Pets.

You can also take a look at the article “10 Tips On How To Make Your Move Smoother”

How do you know that you are choosing a quality Moving Company? Well, ask them the right questions! If you ask the right questions before you move, you will eventually find out that you are more comfortable with a certain one. What questions should you ask? Check out another recent article called “Questions that you should ask your moving company before you move”

We understand that this is a lot of information to take in, but we also assure you that these various resources will dramatically reduce the stress of price, time, kids, school, pets and the unknown.

For additional information, here is another great article about Common Mistakes When Choosing A Moving Company.

We hope that this helps you in making an informed and educated decision before you choose a moving company to handle your move.

That’s for reading!

Household Items That You Didn't Know You Were Packing Incorrectly

You would be surprised at how many people actually pack their items the wrong way when they are moving. Packing items the incorrect way can cause damages and make items a lot harder to move. This is why I have composed a list of packing tips that will help you to properly package certain items in your home. If you have questions about packing certain items that aren’t on this list, just give us a call and we will be glad to talk to you.

Washing Machines and Dryers – Most people don’t know that they should have their washer and dryer serviced the day prior to their move. The washer needs to be drained of excess water so that it is not as heavy to lift and move. Also, the inside of your washing machine has a drum that needs to be secured prior to moving. If it’s not properly secured, then the drum can actually get damaged and the spin cycle on the machine may no longer work. We have a tip for those of you who cannot afford to pay a moving company to service your appliances. Completely drain the hoses in the washer and fill the drum with a large comforter to keep it in place if you are moving it yourself.

As for the dryer, it depends if it is electric or a gas dryer. As always with gas, we highly recommend only using a professional to disconnect it. A hint for electric dryers is to check the cord prongs and be sure that the plug will actually work in your new home. If it can’t, there is a way to simply change the cord to the machine rather than having to buy a new dryer for the new home. We can have a company come out to do this for you at a reasonable cost if you are not a handy man.

Books – Most people don’t realize that books seem lightweight, but when you put them all into a box, they can get extremely heavy. We recommend packing blankets, pillows, linens and lightweight items into larger boxes and packing books into smaller cartons. This will make them easier to carry and you won’t break your back.

Refrigerators – Some refrigerators have ice makers which should properly be disconnected prior to moving. The water line needs to be drained and capped off so that you do not experience a terrible leak and possible property damage later on. We can help you to have your refrigerator disconnected and drained at a really decent cost or you can hire a professional yourself. Also, a great idea to keep your refrigerator smelling nice and clean while it’s being moved is to take a coffee filter, fill it with coffee and tie it off. When you place it into the fridge, it will help to eliminate foul smells and keep the air inside the fridge from getting stale while it is being moved. And never forget that you cannot lay a refrigerator down while in transit. All refrigerators must be moved standing upright.

Fine China and Breakables – It’s already scary enough to have to move your fine china and breakable items. Starting with plates, a great idea is to buy paper plates to put in between the plates prior to wrapping them. This gives the plates just another layer of protection. Always remember to pack glass items as tight as possible so there isn't shifting in the boxes that can cause damage. If you have really breakable vases or glassware, you may even want to look at getting some micro foam to wrap those items in. Micro foam works very well and can save you a lot of money by protecting your rare and valuable glassware.

Grandfather Clocks – We have talked about this before, but why not bring it up again in case you missed it?! A long time ago in our industry, we used to require that all Grandfather Clocks were crated. While this is still true if you are moving across the country, it may not pertain to you if you are moving down the road. With new technology and new carton options, we now have Grandfather Clock boxes that work very well at protecting your grandfather clock during the move. You don’t have to pay additional money to crate your clock. We still recommend that you have the pendulums removed and packed separately than the clock. We also recommend micro foam wrapping on the glass edges if your clock has them.

Jewelry and Coin Collections – When it comes to your expensive jewelry, we always recommend that you move it yourself. A lot of jewelry is priceless and sentimental and yours is probably no exception. If you do have to pack it, I recommend that you pack it into a lock box where the keys are only available to you. Same with coin collections or any other type of collectible item that you do not want to get lost.

Packing your Kitchen – There are a lot of items in your kitchen that you may not have the original cartons for. Cartons come in many shapes and sizes, but we always recommend that you use dish packs. Dish packs are double cardboard boxes that work really well for kitchen items and they can hold a really good amount of items in them. They are strong and durable and really make packing your kitchen easy. As always, we recommend that you use white packing paper instead of newspaper as it can leave ink marks on your dishes and they will have to be rewashed again at destination. Always keep your knives in a plastic container so they do not puncture a box and hurt anyone during the moving process.

Guns and Ammunition – While most people choose to move their own guns and, we do offer to move them as long as certain information is obtained prior to packing  or moving them. Unfortunately, we cannot move ammunition. Most gun owners have cases for their guns, but if you do not and you would like to know how to properly package them for transport, you can feel free to give us a call. Packing guns vastly depends on the type, make and model of the firearm to better understand the needs of that particular item.

Artwork and Mirrors – It’s something that a lot of people don’t consider until the last minute, but moving mirrors (especially large mirrors) and artwork (especially high value artwork) should always be considered in your move and pre-planned. We recommend using mirror cartons for artwork and glass and these nifty cartons fit almost any size. They offer extra double cardboard protection as well as protecting the corners of your mirrors. If you have a really large mirror and you are moving across the country or across the state, we may recommend crating it depending on the value and size. Mirror cartons can save you a lot of money on crating.

High Value Items and Electronics – Did you get one of those giant flat screen TV’s recently? They look great mounted on your wall! Did you keep the original carton that it came in? Most people don’t. So if you need to pack one of these, then ask us about our TV cartons! These really make moving your flat screen easy. We also have cartons for other electronics, DVD players, speakers and much more. We recommend using anti static bubble wrap and/or shrink wrap when you are prepping these types of items to be moved. Static is not good for electronics and can possibly cause damage.

Lawnmowers – Moving Companies can move lawnmowers of any shape or size. We actually just recommend that you take the gasoline and oil out of them so they do not leak fluid or combust. Once that is done, they are basically prepared to be moved. Of course, if you have a grass catcher, you may want to empty it first.

BBQ Grills – Most people own them and when you are in a mad rush to start packing your house; BBQ grills are often left in the dark until it’s too late. You will want to clean out your grill and make arrangements for transport of the propane tank. Most Moving Companies will not transport the propane.

Printers – Did you know that if you forget to remove the toner out of your printer that it can ruin the internal components of the machine? Be sure to remove the toner before you move your printer.

Leather Couches and Chairs – Did you know that because leather is made out of hide that it actually breathes? That being said, you shouldn’t wrap your leather furniture in shrink wrap without padding it first. If your moving company does not put pads around your leather items, stop them immediately. Your leather can sweat under the plastic and the moisture can ruin your beautiful leather furniture.

Parts Box – One of the most useful ideas to utilize when you are packing your home is a parts box. This box should be clearly marked so it can be easily identified. In this box you should put your TV remotes, cables, phone cords, parts to bookshelves, cabinets, etc… This way all of your parts are all in one place for an easier assembly at a later time.

Clothing – This may sound crazy, but you can save money on wardrobe boxes by gathering the clothes and using trash bags to tie the hung clothes together at the top of the hangers. Otherwise, wardrobe cartons can definitely be provided for easy moving.

Mattresses – Protect your mattress! We have either mattress boxes or mattress bags. These really help to keep your mattress clean while you are moving.

There are many additional useful ideas and tips on our Google+ Page.

Project Management & Large Moves - Buehler Keeps You Organized!

Project Management can be pretty difficult and really time consuming. Especially if it’s not your only job and we both know that it probably isn't your only job. It still needs to be done and you have been appointed the task of “making it all happen”

That can be very stressful and can put a lot of pressure on a person. I understand that feeling all too well as I personally had to coordinate our internal office move and I work for a moving company!

Nevertheless, I still had all of the same stresses to make sure everything went well. I mean, we are a moving company after all and if our own personal move didn't go well, then that wouldn't be a good thing.

One of the things that made the job easier was a project management webpage that explained how to do everything. It was so easy to just send everyone a link to the site and answer questions later. There really weren't a lot of questions because the project management website pretty much explained everything in a very simple and easy to use way.

This is one of the great things about Buehler, we can really make your project so simple. The packing instructions, dates and times that things are going to happen and the overview links on the site really helped to keep everyone on track.

From delivery of totes (moving bins) to when the crews were scheduled to arrive, it was all in one place and employees weren't left with a ton of questions on when things were happening.

This is a really useful tool when you are moving large offices or if you have a real complex move. It really helped us out and we can do it for you!

We customize everything we do around your move.

We also have online photo storage options that allow you to see images of your inventory and pick items as they are needed for delivery! This is just another way that Buehler Companies defines quality. We are here to services our clients needs.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions at all regarding this incident.

Packing kitchen items can be difficult. Here are some tips and hints on packing your kitchen!

Did you know that in most cases, packing the kitchen is typically the most difficult room in the house to pack? Most people don’t realize that they have so many dishes and kitchen appliances that are odd shaped, bulky and hard to figure out what to do with.
Do you want to know how to manage packing your kitchen? We can help!

There are a lot of packing solutions that we can provide as well as tips for certain items, so I went ahead and picked some items in a random search to talk about today.

Hopefully this will help you with some of your packing questions, but if you have further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Let’s start with some odd shaped items. Like this handy dandy Kitchen Aid Mixer!

Man this thing is a monster and made Mom’s day when she opened it at Christmas! It does everything and the cookies that this sucker produces are out of control delicious!!!

Now, packing and moving it without the original box!! What a headache right??!!???

Nah, we have this under control. We recommend that you use a 3.0 carton and pack this monster upright with non inked professional packing paper securely in the bowl. Be sure that you use a lot of paper on the inside because the tighter you pack it the less likely there will be damage to it during the move.

What about these knives!???!!?

Everyone has them in their kitchen. They are a required tool and necessary. Now what do you do about these sharp utensils?

Well, it seems easy enough to just toss them into a random box right? Wrong!

These sharp items can puncture a carton and stab a mover or your best friend… whoever is carrying the box at the time when the knife suddenly plunges through it!

Let’s think a little safer with these guys and put them into a plastic tote along with scissors or any other potentially deadly objects that you might have lying around.

Also, see our tip below on using your breadbox!

Now… not all of us drink coffee, but the 99 percent of the rest of us that do, have one of these!

Or even better yet, who has one of these bad boys!!???! (Wish I did) and how the heck do you pack that?

Well, the first order of business is to make sure there isn’t any water or coffee in them and you would be surprised how many people don’t check that before packing their coffee machines.

The coffee and water can get stuck in parts and pieces of the machines and completely destroy them during a move. So once you have that accomplished, then you will want to be sure that you use a lot of packing paper (we recommend professional packing paper because newsprint can leave ink spots on your items especially if they are going into long term storage or something like that)

Wrap the glass completely separate from the machine and fill it with as much paper as possible. One of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they don’t use enough paper on the inside or the outside of the glass.

We also advise that you pack these types of items into a double cardboard carton such as a dish pack and that you keep all glass pieces at the top of that box.

Here is an example of a dish pack.

These cartons are a lot thinker than normal cartons and they stand roughly 4 feet high. Pack the entire carton as tight as possible to avoid damages.

Also, it never hurts to put a giant red arrow on the box to tell everyone what side up it should be at all times. Pots and pans that are less likely to get broken should be placed into the dish pack first.

Now which one of you has one of these?

Don’t worry; I won’t invade your house on Thanksgiving!

Well, maybe I will… Anyway, great for Turkey, right? And if you don’t have one, then you should definitely get one because these bad boys make the best bird! Okay, now I’m getting hungry and off topic.

As great as it is to have one of these, how do you pack it before moving? Well it’s actually a lot easier than you may think! Make sure it’s completely cleaned out because grease is not something that you want to deal with when it comes time to unpack!

Disconnect the propane tank and set that in a place where you can move it yourself (your moving company will not move flammable items like propane, so plan to haul all of the explosives yourself) preferably in a non-smoking vehicle J

Disconnect the entire thing and disassemble it as much as possible and keep a plastic bag handy for loose bolts and screws. Tape the bag of loose bolts and screws to the inside of the cooker as well as the propane tubing, and then stuff it with packing paper. Tape the lid closed when complete. This prevents the accessories from getting lost and keeps them with the fryer. We recommend using professional packing tape so it won’t leave a sticky residue on the item. An alternative to tape would be to use shrink wrap or even regular handy wrap to seal it with.

Depending on the size of the fryer, we recommend using anywhere between a 3.5 to a 4.5 carton to pack this item in. Of course, you would use a lot of non-printed professional packing paper.

Once you place the fryer into the carton, use a blanket to wrap around it. This allows you to fill up the box, keep it light to carry, protect the item and hey, you even packed a blanket in the process of it all!

Want to know a moving tip that will knock your socks off???? Oh yeah, I’m on a roll today!

If you have a breadbox, like this:

Don’t leave it empty!!! Carefully wrap your deadly weapons such as steak knives, pokers, ice chipping tools, silverware and any other inanimate sharp objects from your kitchen into a towel and put tem into the breadbox! YAY! Everyone is safe and you packed some towels too!

Oh, I’m not done! Did you know that crock-pots have more use than a fine roast that cooked itself all day???

Why yes they do! Take all of the smaller glass items like shot glasses, glass measuring cups, and any little glass kitchen trinkets that you have and wrap each individually with professional non-inked packing paper and pack them into the crock-pot!

Pack them as tight as possible and wrap the whole thing with shrink wrap or Saran wrap. Who would have thought that this stuff would come so handy for your move?

Now, I am not a professional cookie maker or anything, but I still have tons of these baking sheets in my kitchen.

These are flat and easy to pack so why am I bringing them up? Because there is another use for them that’s why!

You can use these on the inside lining of the boxes for extra protection to your dishes! Wrap them and use them on the outer edges to keep everything else a little safer.

Do you have a miniature fridge? Save some space and a box! Thaw the fridge out completely a couple of nights before your move and clean it out. Then, remove the shelving to make space inside the fridge. Wrap the shelving pieces using extra linens and towels and fill it up with as many types of linen that you can.

Pillow cases, sheets, etc… use lighter items and not heavy items. Once full, shrink wrap or tape closed with professional packing tape. You just saved a box and packed some more stuff. Easy as pie!

We have many more packing tips and resources  for you. And of course, if you have a particular item that you would like to talk about, then call us at 303-388-4000 or feel free to shoot us an email at deninfo@buehlercompanies.com.

Moving isn't easy for pets. If you are moving your pets, here are some helpful tips and hints

We all love our pets and when you aren't moving, they are great to have around! So what do you do when you have to move with pets? There are many things that you can do that will not only help you out where moving pets are concerned, but it’s also a good time to update some things regarding your pets as well.

Here is a list of some things that you should try before moving with your pets.

Call the veterinarian and ask for the pets medical records and shot records. You never know when you are going to need them for your next visit to the new veterinarian at your new location.

Get a sitter! Moving day is just as stressful on your pets as it is on you. They can get in the way of the movers or run out of doors that are left open. The pet may not understand what’s going on and this can cause stress to the animal. It’s just better to get a sitter for your moving day to help you and the pets out.

Don’t forget to get your pets tag updated with your new address information. This is really inexpensive to do and pets can get confused or lost in a new place. Be sure to ensure that they can be returned to you if they get out.

If you are traveling with your pet in a car, lay blankets down, stop often for water and be sure that your pets have ventilation especially if it’s hot outside.

Make sure that you have prepared and inspected your new home prior to bringing your pets there. Check the fences, cubby holes and spaces where they can potentially get out of the house.

If your pet is on medication, be sure that you have plenty on hand and that you don’t pack it into a box where it could potentially be difficult to find.

Don’t leave your pet in the car for too long. When you are making a long road trip to your new location, it’s easy to stop for breaks. However, laws in each state are different when it comes to leaving pets in the car. Be sure to look up the local laws on leaving pets in the car in each state that you will be traveling through.

If your pet has really long hair, brush the pet prior to traveling to avoid getting hair all over the inside of the vehicle. This can make for an uncomfortable trip in some cases.

Don’t forget the leash! Even though some pets aren't going anywhere, the last thing that you want is to get a citation for breaking a leash law. Better to be safe than sorry.

Be sure that you make a first aid kit for the car. This is good for both humans and pets in case something happens along the way.
Always have cash on hand before traveling. You never know if you are going to need cash and if an ATM will be available. This also helps for last minute purchases in case your forgot anything.

We hope that some of these tips and hints will help to ease moving with your pets. We are happy to answer any additional questions. Contact us today.

The Way The World Is Moving… PETS!

Before you move, reduce the clutter, save money and don't pay to move items that you don't really need.

Let’s get rid of the clutter!

I was thinking this morning that it’s actually not an easy task to get rid of some of your items. Moving always gives us the motivation to get rid of things because no one wants to pay additional money to move items that they don’t need.

So this got me thinking… How can I help people to ease the task of getting rid of the extra’s that they don’t need. I may be a professional mover, but heck I need to follow my own advice! So I started to go through my own things and here are some hints and tips that I think might help you out too!

As I was going through things, I realized that I had an excuse for not throwing items away. Everything that I didn’t need I would happen to need one day so I need to keep it right? Wrong! After going through the torture for a couple of hours, I realized that I was going about this clean up business all wrong.

So I started to ask myself what I was doing wrong and it dawned on my that I was asking myself the wrong questions. Once I started asking myself the right questions, the clutter finally seemed to slowly start to go away.

Here’s how I recommend that you start. Ask yourself “Have I used this in the last year?” if the answer is No, then proceed to question number two “Is this item sentimental or can it really be replaced?” if you still feel like you need to keep the item, then ask yourself “Is this item worth paying additional money on my move to keep?” oh yeah! That question is the kicker.

Asking those simple questions make going through the clutter a breeze! Once I was done going through everything, then I decided that I am just going to go through it all again (Just to make sure) and lo and behold, I found more to get rid of!

At the end of it, not only did the entire house get cleaned and organized, but I reduced the amount of stuff we had by about 2,500 lbs on my move! That amount of stuff changed the estimate significantly from the moving company. Not to mention, that knowing what you actually have saves you a ton of money because you aren’t buying things that you don’t really need. It’s a win win situation!

I found this to be very helpful on my last move so I thought that I would share it. Hopefully it helps you with yours.

Happy Moving,

Totes can save you money on your next office move

There are numerous reasons why totes are a better option for your move than regular boxes. It’s not just about being “Green” even though that is a really good thing.

Totes also make the move go a lot quicker. They stack four high and are placed on wheels so that when your moving company arrives, then can just roll them onto the truck. This can save you thousands of dollars on your office move because the movers do not have to place multiple boxes onto dollies.

So when you are looking to do your next office move, ask your moving company about totes and if they will work on your next move!

Moving is stressful enough! What is the New Years Resolution for your Customer Service Team?

Moving your home can sometimes be overwhelming. We all know that it’s not easy. There is always so much to do and the list of things to remember grows the more that you think about it.

We understand that this can be a very trying time. It’s already enough of a change in your life to start in a new home or a new job. You already have a lot on your plate and on your mind.

This is why Buehler Companies provides each and every customer with a personal moving coordinator. Our moving coordinators are trained to be there with you every step of the way.

I asked Vicky Rondinelli, the Customer Service Manager here at Buehler Companies what her secret was. Customers seem to feel at ease when she talks to them. She has this understanding of the moving process and her soft approach makes moving seem so easy.

She indicated to me that it’s not just about customer service, but really understanding that the customer is going through a major change in life. It’s not just moving, it’s everything from a new job to a new city to a new home, etc… and that can be stressful!

She said that one of the first things that you have to remember is that these are people. They are humans who are going through enough as it is and moving is only a small part of that.

Vicky then went on to tell me that one of the biggest things that we can do to help people is to simply make sure that their move goes as smooth as possible and that our customers feel supported along the way.

This made me think a lot because she is right. Sometimes we get stuck in the flow of work and our daily activities and it’s not hard to become numb to the simple things.

So we have decided, that here at Buehler Companies we are going to make a New Years Resolution!

In an attempt to open our minds more in this company, we are going to take the extra time to stop and remember that these are our people and that we are going to do more to ensure that they feel like a part of our family during this complicated and stressful time.

Some of the goals that the customer service department gathered up are really great. We all look forward to the New Year and working even harder to ensure that we are the best moving company in the world.

2014 Team Goals

  • Listen more! We decided that we are going to shut our mouths and let you talk! Sometimes in customer service we forget that our customers just need someone to listen to them.
  • Gather more feedback! We just started a new review program to push for additional reviews on our company. We want to be the best moving company in the world. Where do we start? By listening to what our customers have to say! Our crews are now handing our review cards to each and every customer so that we can gather feedback to improve who we are. We want to know! Review us today!
  • More classes! Not moving, packing and classes on how to manage a major project. We are talking about classes on customer service and phone skills.
  • Taking a bigger step in pride! That’s right, we are already proud of what we do here at Buehler Companies, but we want to do more! Pride plays a key factor in success. We appreciate our customer service team and want to show them so that they know that we see the determination and pride that they put into their work each and every day.
  • Extra credit! We are now handing out gift cards to the crews that get an “honorable” mention from a customer! So let us know if you had exceptional service and mention a crew members name so they can get rewarded for outstanding service!

These are just some of the things we have put into place and we are always striving to be the best moving company! Feel Free to Contact Us today with your moving ideas!
We are the way the world is moving!

Moving Companies that handle hazardous material moves. Choose the moving company that knows how to ship hazardous items properly.

Handling Hazardous Material, Batteries and Electrolytes

There is an important thing to consider when you are moving items that are hazardous. Make sure that you choose the right company to move these types of items. If your moving company does not handle these types of items properly, then it can be disastrous.

Does your moving company have a contingency plan for hazardous materials? Are they licensed and certified? Remember that accidents begin where safety ends!

Safety is extremely important to us here at Buehler Companies, this is why we are going to break down our safety plan for you and for others.

Protecting human health and the environment is not only your moving companies duty, it’s their responsibility!

Here are some of the actions that need to be taken when you have a spill of these toxic materials:

  • Assess the scene and confirm that there are no injuries and that the immediate area is not at risk for potential danger.
  • Stop any discharge of flow of hazardous material immediately.
  • Contain materials by means of a dike, absorbent pillows and if no other material is available, make a small pit to minimize the speed of the material and prevent it from spreading. Do not endanger yourself or others while attempting to minimize the spill.
  • Your moving company should already have soda ash and the proper spill kit on the truck if they are a certified hazardous materials handling company.
  • All incidents should be reported immediately to the Service Center Manager and Safety Manager.
  • Keep all bystanders away from the scene and lay out caution tape to prevent people from getting near toxic materials.
  • If there are flammables and/or combustible type materials, keep all sources of ignition and flames away from the materials. Do not smoke near the spill area and stop bystanders from smoking.
  • The home office would have dispatched a clean up crew at this time. Only certified partners may clean up the toxic materials. Secure the scene until the clean up crew arrives to handle the items properly.

If you have an emergency spill that is out of control, please call 911 immediately.

Here at Buehler Companies, safety is our number one concern when handling hazardous materials moves!

Please contact the right moving company to service this type of product. Contact Us Today!

Thank you for choosing Buehler Companies as your relocation partner!

Good Job to our Fort Worth Office - We love to see outstanding reviews like this!

Rating: 5 Star Moving Rating , Posted by  on
After making 19 moves over the past 44 years, I can attest that Buehler Mayflower ranks as one of the best movers in the business. My experience started with the highly professional and personable service form Mike Edwards, the sales executive. After a misunderstanding in how I wanted to store and ship my goods, Gary Michel took swift action to make the necessary changes to accommodate my desires.  He also hand-selected his top team to complete the packing and loading of my household goods. We had a lot of antique furniture and other high-value items that required special packing. Earl (Hemons?) and his crew did an exceptional job of going beyond my expectations to ensure that my valuable goods received the very best protection that the industry could provide. To attest to the quality of work they did, the Mayflower agent at delivery said that this was the best packed shipment that he had seen in his career.  As move coordinator, Lori Purvis did an outstanding job of responding to my unique request as well as helping to solve billing-related and other issues. She was always very curteous and timely in making sure that I was satisfied. Above all, the entire team at Buehler Transfer and Storage in Fort Worth made me feel like a valued customer.
Likewise, the crew from A&E Relocation Services (Mayflower Agent) in Washington did an outstanding job of unloading my goods. They were very proficient and haddle my goods with tender loving care. They also went out of their way to protect my newly remodeled home.
I want to thank the entire team for a job extremely well done!

Moving A Mattress? Here Are Some Useful Tips And Hints On How To Pack And Move Your Mattress Properly

Do you have an expensive mattress? One of the most common problems when moving a mattress is that it slides across the floor or the ground and gets immediate damage and can get stained and ruined.

Even if you are moving yourself and you don’t hire a moving company, ask about our mattress bags!

They are relatively cheap and can save you tons by protecting your expensive mattress. We also provide mattress cartons in various sizes if you prefer to have a box instead of a bag.

Do yourself a favor and save your mattress!!!

Tips on Moving a Mattress

  • Remember that King and Queen Beds normally have Single box springs. So when you are packing a king size bed, pick up the king mattress bag and two single mattress bags.
  • Have a friend help you! You can get hurt trying to put the mattress in the bag or box by yourself.
  • Use tape to make handles on the side of the mattress bag for easy lifting.
  • Spray your mattress lightly with Fabreze prior to placing it into the box or bag so that it keeps a fresh smell throughout the moving process.
  • Put extra tape on the corners of the mattress bag for extra protection.

Hopefully these tips will help you to move your mattress safely. Call us today if you need any help!

Also, check out our moving resources page for additional hints and tips on moving.
